Eye-catching purebred Clydesdale gelding: Lochlea Isaac (Appa) is a 12 year old, 17.3hh, stunning chestnut paint purebred Clydesdale gelding. He is registered with the Commonwealth Clydesdale Horse Society, although is registered as a bay as there was no option available to reflect his actual colouring.
Sire: Valmont Pegasus
Dam:Yarramine Royal Goldy

I have owned him for the past three years and during that time we have been receiving dressage lessons from Janice Usherwood and Susan Elekessy, who both love him. We have also had occasional jumping lessons with Stephen Dingwall, although due to Appa's size he is not able to jump particularly high. I take him out on the trails on a weekly basis, often by himself but he is also perfectly fine to ride in company. He is not fussed by traffic, dogs, bicycles, etc, and I have ridden him down Hindmarsh drive on plenty of occasions with no issues.

He always tries very hard to please and has beautiful movement well suited to the dressage ring. His previous owner competed him in dressage regularly and he scored well during those outings. Due to time constraints I have been unable to compete him as I originally planned, however, he could easily go out and compete in a Novice dressage test tomorrow. He would also do well in a showing environment, as he has a very unusual colouring and is very impressive in terms of his stature.

He works well on the contact and has beautiful soft paces that are very easy to sit to (I school him bareback periodically). He has established leg yield, shoulder in and out, turn on the forehand, and forward transitions between gaits (including walk to canter). For a big horse he maintains a good level of forward movement when he is working, although he will try and be lazy if he get away with it. He is a very honest horse with a lovely, quiet, gentle nature. I can easily put beginner riders on him although he needs a capable rider to get the best out of him.

He is easy to float (has been on floats and trucks), have his feet done (currently barefoot), worm, have his teeth done, and catch.

His price includes the following:
- dressage saddle (recently reflocked)
- bridles x2 (including his custom made Flexible Fit bridle)
- Winter rugs x2 (one standard neck and one combo, recently cleaned and repaired)
- rain sheet (recently repaired)
- saddle blankets x4
- fly veils x4 (one I use on his bridle when we ride out during Summer, the others are his paddock ones)
- set of exercise boots (front and back)
- halter and lead rope x2

$9,500 negotiable to right home.
