**IDEAL CHILDS FIRST PONY**: Sadly, children grow and ponies don’t.
We are incredibly sad to be offering Fyn, who has introduced both of my children and many of our friends children to the love of horses. A kind, patient and cuddly soul, he has looked after them from lead line to off lead and they have now moved on to bigger mounts.
Fyn is a successful show pony. Registered as Kevelle Lee Fenwick, 9.3hh, black/brown Shetland gelding DOB: 18/09/2007 (9 years old). Fyn has won his class at Sydney Royal and Breed Champion in other shows. He is a beautiful example of his breed both inside and out.
However Fyn has spent most of his time at pony club and trail riding with the family. He has been to 4 x weeklong pony club camps and consistently attended rally days and gymkhanas for the past 5 years. Nothing fazes him… Out on the trails he keeps up with the rest of the horses, is confident (not spooky) and reliable and enjoyable to ride.
Fyn swims in the dam, he dresses up in tin foil, wears bows, princess outfits and unicorn attire. He stands patiently all day to be brushed and plaited, is great in the paddock (no little man syndrome with other horses), has been clipped all over without drama, lunges, floats perfectly, is great for farrier, faultless in traffic, leads from other horses, has had his teeth done and has a soft snaffle mouth. He’s been to preschool for “show and tell” and has hosted kids parties. There’s not much he hasn’t done. He is the kind of pony you can depend on to take everything in his stride.
Fyn prefers to take his lead from adults until kids are competent with their aids. He will follow his adult around (even without lead attached) so is great for helping littlies think they’re doing it all themselves when we know he’s really following us. He’s rather partial to the forelock ruffles he gets from adults and always comes in for the cuddles. His default position if kids aren’t clear is halt. He’s not very forward – preferring the slower paces, but will become forward under adult influence or when ridden confidently. Once kids learn their aids he can be ridden independently. Fyn is best suited as a first pony for little tots wanting to have a confidence building experience with horses and transition between lead to off lead.
Fyn can be sold with his pony pad, bridle and winter rugs.
If you think you can adore this pony like we have and provide him a conscientious and caring home, serious buyers can please enquire after hours.
