16hh Solid Build Chestnut Gelding, Suit Trails: Been in full work on a short-term lease, until recently. Had not been ridden for approx 5 yrs prior to this period, due to lack of my time and was bought back into work by a confident novice rider. No longer suitable for full-time heavy work or jumping.

Ridden by myself on weekends. Forward moving horse but no dirt and can be ridden by confident beginners. Calm nature and takes everything in his stride – been out on the side of roads (80km traffic limits), past fences with barking dogs, sheep and Shetland ponies running at the fence and past horses cantering along the fence line (only a metre away) and he just continues on as asked. No fuss, no prancing or jog-jogging – just same old Buddy.

Is a very good doer and will only need grass (and some extra hay on ridden days) if you have plenty. He has PERFECT ground manners and has had training and clinics with John Chatterton over the years.

Easy to worm and can be done in the paddock with no halter and loads himself on the float (loves going for drives). Has been barefoot since I got him (long time owner) and rarely needs trimming as he self-trims well enough on his own. When trimming him I can sit on the ground behind him and rest his hind feet on my leg while trimming – this is how quiet he is. Does need boots when out on very rocky terrain for long trail ride periods. Not a problem to have his teeth done either and enjoys a good bath.
