Welsh pony gelding 11.3 hh : For Sale
Please read whole ad! This is a difficult, regrettable yet necessary sale.
Flash, 11.3 hh, approx 7-8 years, burnt buckskin, cheeky, Welsh gelding. Unregistered, unbranded. I know little of his history.
We've had Flash nearly 3 years. My daughter was 2 1/2 when she began riding him and has been on the lead all that time. He's been to countless shows in topsy rings, done Freshmans, dressage, combined training, horse trials, trail riding all on the lead, (yes, I've done a lot of walking) and pony club, for 12 months. He's walked/trotted over 100's of jumps, is brilliant to float, alone or with another horse, but he's sadly not the right pony for her to make the transition to being off the lead, as he's too forward, he'd make an excellent second pony, and I think his forte will be jumping.
After 3 years of being lead, Flash has become a bit disrespectful to my daughter as a rider, as he's taken all his cues from me. For the first time in 3 years I had a 10 year old girl ride him and he was fabulous, and has great steering and brakes. I know with a capable and confident child he will be a ripper pony club mount.
The only chink in his armour is that he can be a little spooky at times, and isn't a fan of men (I suspect it's to do with his past) and I will discuss this with potential buyers.
Flash has been ridden by complete beginners, but he will not be sold as a beginners pony! He needs a capable child.
Flash doesn't have a mean bone in his body, I've trusted him with my daughter as a small child, and non horsey children on the ground 100%. He can be 'in your face' around food, but he's never been nasty in any circumstance to children, people or other horses.
He's recently had his teeth done, is due for a tetanus/strangles shot late July, he's got excellent feet, and has never foundered. He's hard fed once a day, and is fed hay twice daily, and it's been very easy to maintain his condition. He's rugged all year round.
Flash will only go to a horsey, knowledgeable, active pony club home. I will only sell him to what I consider is the perfect home.
Please call me, I'm not prepared to have lengthy text message conversations.
Video is available for genuine buyers.
