DRAUGHT HORSE STALLIONS AT STUD

A Draught Horse or heavy horse was originally a large horse, bred for hard, heavy tasks, such as ploughing and farm labour.

There are a number of different breeds, with varying characteristics but all share common traits of strength, patience and a docile temperament.  In modern times draught horses are usually used in harness but can be crossed with lighter breeds to produce excellent riding horses.

Common Draught breeds in Australia include Clydesdale, Shire and Percheron.
