Takoda Spanish Mustangs - Neosho (Imp USA): 2003 grulla Spanish Mustang Stallion. Neosho is a stunning, noble stallion with an exquisite temperament and presence. He is a wonderful example of the Spanish Mustang breed with his short, strong back, extremely tough hooves that will tackle any terrain barefoot, huge amount of bone, lovely sub convex profile and most importantly the most delightful nature. Sus Kellogg, his trainer in the USA, had this to say about him: 'He is a truly noble horse, so expressive and intelligent. It has been an honour to work with Neosho. He is a one of a kind horse, an incredible horse. He has had quite a following here, and will be missed.'

Neosho has a presence that makes you stop and take notice. He is kind and gentle to his mares & we are expecting his first foals in the next few weeks. These foals will be available for purchase to approved homes.

Neosho is a grulla with leg bars, shoulder bars and a dorsal stripe. He is homozygous black so can never produce a red foal.

About the breed:

The Spanish Mustang is a critically rare breed descended from the horses brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors in 1492 (not to be confused with the BLM mustang running wild in the USA today). The Spanish Mustang is different in many ways to the modern domestic horse. They have extremely tough hooves, short strong backs (many having one less vertebra than modern horses), incredibly smooth riding with endless endurance, exceptionally good doers, unparalleled intelligence and they form a strong commitment to their owners. They retain the bravery of the war horse they once were surging forth where other horses fear to tread and doing so in a calm manner.

They are a truly versatile breed and are seen competing in endurance, dressage, ODE, showjumping, competitive trail, team penning and carriage driving to name a few.
