All infected properties continue to be closely monitored and no new Hendra cases have been reported this week. All at risk horses on the recently-quarantined property at Mullumbimby remain healthy and continue to be monitored. Further laboratory testing will be carried out 16 and 32 days following the last contact with the infected horse. There are three cats and two dogs on the Mullumbimby property – all are being assessed in line with NSW DPI’s policy for companion animals. ...

Hendra Quarantine Lifted from Two Qld Properties

Two properties in the Beaudesert area have had their Hendra virus quarantine removed. With the lifting of the quarantine on two properties at Kerry, they have now reverted to their pre-quarantine status and no longer face any Hendra virus-related restrictions. Quarantine restrictions are only lifted after the completion three rounds of testing over a 32-day period, with all tests results returning negative results for Hendra virus. ...
