Jonathan Paget has ridden Clifton Promise through a brilliant clear cross country round in the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event in the United States this morning to move into third place with team-mate Andrew Nicholson and Qwanza in ninth spot. Just 32 managed to complete a very challenging cross country course, with just eight going clear and inside time – the two Kiwis both included in that illustrious list....

American rider Alison Springer and Arthur have taken the lead after Dressage with the only sub-40 mark at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event (USA) presented by Bridgestone, the third leg of the HSBC FEI Classics™. The duo are well-known exponents of the art of Dressage and can always be relied upon to produce a beautiful test at this level, but the elegant chestnut gelding also has a tendency to suffer from nerves.... The first stage of competition began yesterday in the Equestrian NSW 3* Class at the Sydney International Three Day Event with Dressage. This tests obedience and training in the first of three phases in what is described as the triathlon of Equestrian Sport. Tim Boland from Wyong Creek in NSW took an early lead with a flowing test on GV Billy Elliot that scored a high 70.80%. This combination is renowned for their prowess in Dressage and they maintained their lead, staying just ahead of Olympians Stuart Tinney (Maraylya, NSW) and Megan Jones (Stirling, SA) until the third last rider of the 18 strong field entered the arena. ... Thirty of the world’s top show jumping riders will be on their way to Spain next week for the hotly-anticipated first European leg of the Global Champions Tour 2012. Jonathan Paget and Clifton Promise are the best placed of the Kiwis at the end of the dressage phase at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event in the United States this morning (Saturday). Paget and Promise (owned by Frances Stead), who were seventh in the World Champs in 2010 at the same venue, are sitting in fifth place after finishing with 44..8 penalty points from their 69.33% dressage test....
