The 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale got off to a strong start in Sydney today with the Super Select Session mares recording an average of $135,748 for the 133 sold. We all hope that our horses live long and happy lives, maybe making it into their 30s and beyond, now a senior citizen equine in Essex (UK) is leading the way - having made it to the ripe old age of 51! It appears that the 15hh chestnut gelding called Shayne, who is still very active and loves a gallop, could be the oldest horse in the world. The previous title of oldest living horse in the world was held by a Welsh x Arabian named Badger, who lived in Wales and died at the age of 51 in 2004. ...
