Alyson McGovern, based in Maleny Queensland, is an award winning photographer, with work that has graced the cover of many equestrian magazines and featured in numerous photographic coverage of horse events.  As you browse through Alyson McGovern's various gallery collections, you quickly realise Alyson holds a great passion for many photographic genres.

 

Having inherited a natural ability; for Alyson drawing, painting and always having a camera in hand were encouraged at an early age.  Growing up with a passion for animals and the creative arts, horses always have been in the forefront and it was a natural progression to combine the two as a lifelong passion and career.

 

Alyson has owned, bred and competed with various horse breeds for over 20 years, but a love of the Quarter Horse temperament with the added chrome of the Paint Horse, has made the biggest impact over the last 14 years or more.  Combined with competing at local, State and National levels with her Paint Horses, judging has given Alyson the opportunity to carefully study many horses' conformation and movement, which has enabled her equine photography career to excel.  Being a hands-on horse person, who is used to the pressures of competitions - whether it be showing or judging - makes Alyson the perfect person to photograph your club or association's next big event.

 

Alyson holds various qualificatoins including a Diploma in Photoimaging, Certificate IV in Photoimaging, Certificate IV in Business, Bowen Therapy and EMRT (Equine Muscle Release Therapy).
