New Zealand Dressage is riding a high with more international success, this time in the FEI World Dressage Challenge after a nail-biting finish at Taupo late Tuesday. Eurodressage has reported that Isabell Werth officially retired her Olympic mount, Satchmo, from competition in a special ceremony at the CDI Stuttgart on Saturday 19 November 2011. The horse is still completely fit and healthy, however, Werth feels there is no need to pressure the now 17-year old Hanoverian to perform another show season.
