Over the past three days, there have been a number of riders aiming for a personal best, which in turn could see them win the class. Each level of competition has different riders and in most of the competitions it has been the same three or four riders battling for the top position. The Australian Dressage Team’s bid for Olympic qualification got underway on Friday 28 October at the Australian Dressage Championships, Sydney International Equestrian Centre. The Grand Prix CDI-W class served as the first leg of the Dressage Regional Olympic qualifier. Due to quarantine restrictions, the qualifier will be held in two parts, one in each hemisphere, as riders and horses are based in both Australasia and Europe. Rachel Sanna and Jaybee Alabaster proved a formidable combination at the Bates National Dressage Championships this weekend, taking the trifecta! Yesterday the unbeatable pair, following wins on Friday and Saturday, finished the weekend with a win in the Pryde's EasiFeeds Grand Prix Special with a score of 71.08 ahead of New Zealand’s Louisa Hill and Bates Antonello (67.29) and Heath Ryan and Regardez Moi (64.92). ... The US riders showed their class yesterday when adding Individual Jumping gold and silver to the team title they claimed last Thursday at the 2011 Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
