The Friends of Ballarat Horse Trials were held on 9-10 May at Ballarat Pony Club grounds. 

Saturday night saw over 30ml+ of rain fall and the temperatures plummet, a number of riders in all classes elected to withdraw from the cross country, preserving their mounts for another day. 

Cross country commenced 15 min late Sunday morning in sheeting rain and a gusty south westerly wind and temperatures around the 7 degrees mark.

The course, whilst soft, was safe with only a few experiencing difficulties.
