Kiwi eventers have finished in three of the top five spots at the prestigious Burghley International Horse Trials in the UK this morning (Mon NZ & Aus time). Aussie Boyd Exell is competing at the FEI Open European Driving Championships for Four-in-Hand being held in Breda, The Netherlands and has just posted on his Facebook page that after dressage, the standings are Boyd first on 34.05, Chardon second on 35.71, Dobrovitz thrid on 44.80 and Timmerman fourth on 45.70. Simone Deitermann (GER) and Free Easy NRW are well known for their ability in the Dressage arena, but the German rider still said it felt “amazing” to be in the lead on her first visit to the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (GBR), second-last leg of the HSBC FEI Classics™. “My horse was quite nervous,” she explained, “and he is not used to performing on a grass arena.” ...
