HSBC is for the third consecutive year supporting the Rising Star category of the awards scheme organised by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the governing body of equestrian sport. The HSBC Rising Star category of the FEI Awards rewards an equestrian athlete aged between 14 and 21 who demonstrates outstanding sporting talent and commitment in any of the FEI-regulated disciplines (Jumping, Dressage and Para-Equestrian Dressage, Eventing, Driving and Para-Equestrian Driving, Endurance, Vaulting and Reining)....

Top driver Boyd Exell (AUS) has continued his amazing success story in Aachen. Crowned World Champion at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Kentucky last year, and winner of the FEI World Cup™ Driving Final for the third consecutive time in Leipzig in April this year, the Australian has won this year’s prestigious CAIO Aachen for the fourth time in his career. Boyd first won Aachen in 2003 and was unbeatable in 2009, 2010 and now in 2011....
Horse in Lismore NSW Dead of Hendra

Tests have confirmed that a horse that died in northern New South Wales last week was suffering from the hendra virus. The horse died suddenly at a property at Lismore on Thursday. It is the fourth case of the bat-borne disease in New South Wales in recent months....
Silver for Kiwi Eventers in Aachen

A storming finish from the top Kiwi eventers was not quite enough to give them gold at the Aachen International Festival in Germany tonight (Saturday). The team finished second, just behind Great Britain who have been in devastating form this season, with Clarke Johnstone on Orient Express and Caroline Powell on Lenamore both in the top 10....
Hendra Virus Cases Confirmed in Boondall and Hervey Bay

Biosecurity Queensland has quarantined two adjoining properties in the Boondall area after test results from a deceased horse returned a positive result for Hendra virus infection. Queensland Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Rick Symons said the horse was euthanased yesterday. "We will now be testing six more horses at this site," he said. "These horses will be monitored daily over the next month." The Boondall case follows confirmation today that a horse euthanased at a Hervey Bay property on Wednesday also had Hendra virus infection....

Biosecurity Queensland officers continue to monitor 36 horses at the quarantined Kuranda property in Far North Queensland where Hendra virus was confirmed on Tuesday 12 July. Queensland Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Rick Symons said the officers were working cooperatively with the property owners and Queensland Health. 'These officers will continue to assess and sample the horses on the property, and to trace their contact with any other horses," Dr Symons said....
