Published on Thursday, May 1, 2014 in General

Weanlings and Broodmares have started arriving in Sydney ahead of Australia’s headline breeding stock sale which begins this coming Sunday 4 May 2014.

The new streamlined Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale will be conducted over three consecutive days at Newmarket. 778 lots have been catalogued – 219 weanlings and 559 mares.

The supplementary entries recently added to the auction include the dams of Group winners Champagne Harmony and Miss Stellabelle, plus stakes placed racemares Essie’s Pride and Twilighting.

These add to a catalogue already brimming with outstanding producers and young black type mares with plenty of upside such as the dam of Group 1 Australasian Oaks placegetter Scratchy Bottom or Listed winner Scorpio Queen, which is back in training towards the Group 1 Brisbane features the Tatt’s Tiara and Stradbroke Handicap.

The High Chaparral weanling half-brother to Scratchy Bottom is also among the excellent collection of star siblings catalogued for sale which includes Whobegotyou, Road To Rock, Dealer Principal, Irish Lights and Stratum.

“The progeny of mares offered at Inglis Broodmare Sales in Sydney have topped the Inglis Easter, Premier, Classic and VOBIS Gold Yearling Sales in either 2013 or 2014. Inglis Weanlings have also been pinhooked to top various select yearling sales,” points out Inglis’ Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

The quality dispersal broodmare drafts from Tyreel Stud and Reavill Farm will be ready for parading on Thursday afternoon. All the Select Session Weanlings will be available for inspection by Friday.

The large draft of mares from Think Big Stud can be inspected from Monday morning, except for Lots 562 and 754 which will be available for viewing from Saturday morning. All General Session mares can be inspected from Monday morning.
