Bev Scott Cup Eve Cocktail Party at Boneo Park

The Bev Scott Story...

Many of you know Bev Scott and of her tragic fall from her horse about 18 months ago that left her a paraplegic.

At a time in her life when she should be enjoying the spoils of her and Terry’s many years of hard work in the equine industry, Bev has had to come to terms with the fact that she will never walk again. As a result of her accident, Bev and Terry had to make the decision to sell their home and the Winery Horse Tour business that they had worked in for so many years. Life at this time would have been particularly tough but can you imagine how Bev coped when soon after moving into their new home, Terry suffered a severe stroke that prevented him from being able to help Bev in her hour of need? Terry spent several weeks in hospital at a time when Bev had not long returned home after her prolonged stay in Royal Talbot.

Friends and acquaintances of Bev and Terry want to do something to assist them in a meaningful way and so we are raising funds to get Bev into a self-drive vehicle. The Activan, a Chrysler van modified by Capital Special Vehicles is a van that will enable Bev to go driving on her own. She will be able to wheel her wheelchair in to the van and into the driver’s seat where she locks her wheelchair in place and puts on her own seatbelt. The automatic fold down ramp will enable Bev to get on and off without assistance! This will enable Bev to get back some of the independence that was so tragically taken from her. We are aiming to raise $50,000 which is a big task but we are confident that with everyone’s help we will achieve this goal.

So how can you help?

Boneo Park has offered their venue to host a fun-filled Melbourne Cup Eve cocktail party and we would like you to join us.

Tickets are $85 per person and will provide entertainment, music, quality finger food & drinks.

All funds raised will go towards the purchase of the Activan for Bev.

Bev has been a wonderful support to the local community over many years and we are keen for friends and acquaintances to support this event.

Be reassured that the cocktail party will be an enjoyable evening and we hope to see you there.
