Black Caviar Still The World’s Number One

Published on Friday, September 13, 2013 in General

By: Inglis

The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities released their latest World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2013 overnight, with Australian bred and Inglis sold champion Black Caviar right at the top.

“Inglis has an outstanding track record of selling world class yearlings. This success rate will now transfer to the two-year-old market with our upcoming Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale , where the focus again will be on quality not quantity – a proven formula that sets us apart from others,” Inglis’ Managing Director Mark Webster affirms.

15-time Group 1 winner Black Caviar was retired following her second victory in the ATC T.J Smith Stakes during this year’s Sydney Autumn Carnival. The $210,000 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale purchase built up a legion of fans during her unbeaten 25 start career.

Black Caviar is due to be served in her debut season at stud by fellow Inglis graduate Exceed And Excel, which claimed the 2012/13 Australian Champion sires title.

Easter sale topper All Too Hard also features prominently in the latest World Rankings. The strapping colt was rated 122, putting him right up the top of a stunning southern hemisphere crop that claimed nine Group 1 races at weight-for-age level in Australia last season.

All Too Hard became the first horse to ever win the Caulfield Guineas / C.F. Orr Stakes / Futurity Stakes and All Aged Stakes in the same season before retiring to Vinery Stud in the Hunter Valley. Star mares booked to the impressive entire in his first season at stud include two-time Horse of the Year Makybe Diva.
