Bling, bling and more bling! Oaks Volta foals sparkle at Lals Haven

Team Joyce love this time of the year when all the Oaks Volta babies arrive with loads of bling, bling and more bling! 

Lals Haven Warmbloods are hoping to achieve nine healthy foals. Three have arrived already and another three are on their way the first week of November.

The last lot of three arrive February 2017. We strategically set them all out that way trying to make sure we have the paddocks free and loads of grass to spare. We shall have to wait and see if all goes to plan.

Oaks Volta is definitely proving to be a really talented showjumper so far, it’s still early days but Wes absolutely loves the feel he gets when riding him. He has not been out to many shows but the outings he has been to we have proudly hung the ribbon on the Volta mantel in the lounge room.

The biggest achievement so far would be at this year’s Australian Showjumping Championships in September. It was a very wet show and we only started him in one class due to the conditions, Wes could not wipe the smile off his face after jumping two clean rounds in the Emerald Series class on Friday afternoon out of 135 combinations. We even sat down in our truck to chat about it. We are so pleased with Oaks Volta he did not touch a fence and did not look like having one down.

The next outing for him will be Dandenong and Korumburra in November plus loads of breeding in between! He seems to be handling the collecting and riding much better this year but of course he is a year older so that all helps. Wes thinks he will do more shows in the New Year hoping that most of our breeding will be over.
