World Four-in-Hand Driving Champion Boyd Excel begins his assault on the 2012-13 indoor FEI World Cup Driving season this weekend.

Boyd and four other of the world’s best drivers are in Hannover, Germany, for the opening round of competition.

The man from Bega in NSW has been virtually unbeatable for the past four seasons and will be looking to make his mark on the season with an early victory.

Winning this season would make it four in a row for the 40 year old who now resides in the UK.

Ten drivers have qualified for 12th FEI World Cup Driving season, which follows a qualification series which consisted of 14 competitions throughout Europe.

The FEI World Cup™ Driving series is made up of eight competitions in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary, Great Britain, Belgium and France. London-Olympia is joining the FEI World Cup™ Driving series for the first time after a successful try-out competition in 2011.Five drivers from the Top 10 will compete at each event and organisers may give wild cards. Scores from each driver’s best three events count to decide the start list for the Final.

The thrilling season finale will again be held in Bordeaux, France in early 2013.
