Build a Cowboy - Starting the Dream

Published on Friday, January 23, 2015 in General

What does it take to Build A Cowboy??? One would think it would take years of dedication and commitment...  Well this is true!

On Wednesday the 21 January at Tamworth's AELEC arena there was an exception to this rule.  150 children from 8-18 years of age got the chance to pull on their hats, boots and Cinch jeans and live the life and dreams of Champions.  An action packed day full of fun and fellowship was had by all.

This free day  in the middle of Tamworth's country music week was enjoyed by children from all aspects and backgrounds of life, allowing many the opportunity to understand how dreams are made.

A highlight for many of this years kids was not only being able to meet several members of the 'Cinch Team' but also getting the chance to have an insight into why it is that they are such successful competitors.

Team members Sam Knight (Campdrafting & Saddle Bronc, Julie Duff (Campdrafting) and Heath Nichols (Steer Wrestling, Rope n Tie, Team Roping) as well as other elite instructors gave their time and were enthusiastic to share their wealth of knowledge with the eager young minds who enrolled in the Mavericks Western Wear/Cinch Build A Cowboy Cowgirl day.

With many exciting new items added this years activities, including a great bag of free goodies given away to each child.  The organisers excelled in taking this programme to the next level.

Extra special thanks must go to the sponsors Mavericks Western Wear and Cinch, the Townsend family, as well as the many many teachers, cooks and volunteers who donated their time.

With the positive feed back from this years event oozing in, this annual event is sure to grow to epic proportions.
