The Australian Racing industry has pulled out all stops to guarantee plenty of EX Factor at a fundraiser in aid of Spinal Cord Injury research.

Darley Stud are contributing to ‘Fools & Horses’, a unique charity dinner on April 8 at The Four Seasons in Sydney, by donating a Service Fee from champion sprinter and leading sire, Exceed And Excel (pictured) for auction with all proceeds going towards finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

Exceed And Excel has to date sired Four G1 winners and 45 Groups or Stakes winners and boasts the enviable record of world’s leading sire of two year old winners since 2008, as well as the world’s leading sire of juvenile Stakes horses.

Darley are honouredand absolutely delighted to be involved. In recognition of the enormous benefit to spinal cord research that CatWalk & SCIN bring, the Directors of Darley Australia are pleased to make available a nomination to their Champion Stallion Exceed And Excel.  Darley are very proud of their current stallion line up and Exceed And Excel, one of Sheikh Mohammed’s most significant purchases in the Southern Hemisphere, is regarded as a signature stallion for the operation in Australia.” Says Managing Director Henry Plumtree

Along with this announcement is news that Plumtree has also agreed to step up to the lectern as one of the panelists in the evening’s comedy debate arguing the topic – Only Fools and Horses Work.

“I am delighted to be part of the panel discussing the topic ‘only fools and horses work’. If recent form is anything to go by I will identify strongly with the fools part of the title!says Plumtree.

Recipient charities The Spinal Cord Injury Network of Australia and The CatWalk Trust of New Zealand are collaborating on this event with the ultimate aim to help Australasia take giant steps towards finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

The scene is set for an unforgettable evening. Previously released details include Peter FitzSimons as MC, Peter Moody (trainer to mare-extraordinaire Black Caviar), confirmed as a debater, and now the announcement of Plumtree as a second panel member. Racing enthusiasts will be chomping at the bit to secure their part in the evening’s action.
