DEFINITE ENTRIES CONFIRMED FOR DISCIPLINES AT ALLTECH FEI WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES™ 2014
Definite entries for the three disciplines of Jumping, Driving, and Vaulting, which take place over the second week of competition at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, were finalised today.
As with the disciplines taking place over the first week of the Games, the number
of entries remains very high and brings the total of athletes and horses, who will start in the Games, to 969 and 1080 respectively.
The number of nations is 74, an all-time high and a 25% increase compared to the previous record established at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Aachen (GER) in 2006 where equestrians from 59 countries had competed.
With 54 nations, Jumping is the discipline, which has attracted the highest participation overall, an absolute record since the creation of the Games in 1990.
The breakdown by discipline is as follows JUMPING [1] TOTAL NATIONAL FEDERATIONS (NFS): 54 NFS WITH TEAMS: 35 ARG, AUS, AUT, BEL, BRA, CAN, CHI, COL, CZE, DEN, EGY, ESP, FIN, FRA, GBR, GER, HUN, IRL, ITA, JPN, MAR, MEX, NED, NOR, POL, QAT, RSA, RUS, SUI, SVK, SWE, SYR, UKR, USA, VEN NFS WITH INDIVIDUALS ONLY: 19 AZE, BER, GRE, GUA, HKG, IND, ISR, JOR, KOR, KSA, LAT, LTU, NZL, PER, POR, SLO, TUR, UAE, URU 184 athletes / 199 horses 158 COMBINATIONS will start in the first competition on 2 September. 26 NFs have entered five competitors only four of whom will start

DRIVING [2] TOTAL NFS: 17 (the host nation FRA is represented by a team and five individual riders) NFS WITH TEAMS: 14 AUS,BEL, CZE, ESP, FRA, GBR, GER, HUN, NED, POL, POR, SUI, SWE, USA NFS WITH INDIVIDUALS ONLY: 3 ITA, SVK, URU 46 ATHLETES AND 230 HORSES Record: 52 participants from 18 countries (Stockholm, 1990)
VAULTING [3] TOTAL NFS: 22 ARG, AUS, AUT, BRA, CAN, COL, CZE, DEN, FRA, GBR, GER, HUN, ITA, MRI, NED, NZL, RSA, RUS, SUI, SVK, SWE, USA 179 ATHLETES (12 pas-de-deux of 2 vaulters; 17 squads of 6 vaulters; 35 individual females; 18 individual males) and 81 HORSES Previous record: 149 athletes from 17 countries (LEXINGTON, KY 2010) .
Australia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, and the USA will be represented in all the disciplines, while 11 countries will make their FEI World Equestrian Games™ debut. They are Hong Kong, US Virgin Islands, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Morocco, Mauritius, Peru, Palestine, Romania, Thailand and Tunisia.
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy will be officially opened tomorrow at a ceremony beginning at 20.30 CEST at Stade d’Ornano in Caen.
