EA's Governance Review Submissions Period Extended
By: Michelle Cook/EA
Members and sport stakeholders are encouraged to have their say on the governance arrangements of equestrian sport in Australia as part of Equestrian Australia’s governance review which was launched in February.
The review panel, which is being chaired by former EA Chairman Paul Biancardi, is reviewing the governance structures of sporting federations both here in Australia and overseas in a bid to develop a sustainable structure for the sport moving forward, and is eager to receive input from members and stakeholders.
During this initial information gathering stage, the closing date for submissions has been extended to the end of April. Equestrian Australia has made it easy for members to submit their feedback online, please click HERE to send your submission.
Once feedback has been collected the review panel will convene, review submissions and prepare a draft report which will be released in September so that members can provide feedback on the initial recommendations. The final report will be prepared and presented to the board at this year’s AGM in October following this second stage of input.
Equestrian Australia Chairman Dr Warwick Vale said feedback from the equestrian community will play a crucial role.
“This is the first time in over a decade that a review of the organisation’s governance arrangements has been completed and the sporting landscape has changed dramatically in this time.
“In order to foresee the best way forward for the sport it is vital that members and stakeholders have their say.
“We welcome feedback on the current governance structure as well as feedback on how it could be improved.
