If you are a Dressage fan or competitor at any level, the "Saturday Daily Package" offers a fantastic day of learning and entertainment, right through to the Evening program of the Equestrian Grand Final Dressage Freestyle finals. The education program for the day has been specially designed to help you look at many of the issues that affect producing a dressage horse. The Specialist Dressage Clinic with Kyra Kyrklund gives you three hours with one of the world's great Dressage Masters and will guarantee you come away with a swag of new ideas to add to your training regime. EQUITANA's Saturday Education program provides an array of sessions that support your training with demonstrations and lectures covering body, mind and dietary issues through to the best way to manage your horse property. Then to top off a great day, you can sit back and enjoy the beautiful and balletic Dressage Freestyle performances. Further entertainment will feature a stunning performance of Spanish Riding by Manolo Mendez, on the magnificent Andalusian stallion, Dynamico, and will be accompanied by renowned Flamenco Guitarist, Richard Tedesco, fresh from his world tour.

Nominations are now open for the Dressage Clinic with Kyra Kyrklund (Saturday 17th), Eventing Masterclass with Mary King (Friday 16th) and the exclusive Behavioural Clinic with Josh Lyons and Richard Winters (Thursday 15th). The first stage of the process involves completing the nomination form for the clinic or masterclass desired no later than Friday 14th September. From there horse and rider combinations will be chosen for the Selection Day, which will on Wednesday 14th November.

CLYDESDALE & HEAVY HORSE DISPLAY

Saturday 17th will provide a special treat for visitors, with an amazing display of "horsepower" through the decades by the Heavy Horse Breeds. The spectacular will be presented as an fascinating history pageant on how the heavy horse progressed in Australia through the years, from the early beginnings of the working, trade and delivery harness horses, through to the majestic led show classes and ridden disciplines of dressage and jumping today. Heavy Horse expert, Andrew Lavis will provide an absorbing and informed explanation on each of the heavy horse groups. The Working Horse Group will provide a demonstration of early farming equipment and implements used throughout the decades. Delivery Harness horses will display tradesman driving an array of heavy delivery vehicles, which kept the country supplied prior to the advent of the motor vehicle.

BREED VILLAGE UPDATE - SOLD OUT!

The 2012 Breed Village will be situated in an exciting new location within the EQUITANA Melbourne precinct. In addition to the John Deere Pavilion, the open and friendly environment of the Breed Village will give you the opportunity to get up close and personal with the different breeds and have all your questions concerning breeding, bloodlines and temperament explained by knowledgeable individuals and groups. The village has a great variety of horses on display this year, so you will be able to learn about breeds ranging from Miniature Horses to Gypsy Cobs - and loads in between! The John Deere Pavilion will house a 26m x 22m sand arena where all presentations for the Breeds will take place. This year we have adopted a new daily segment for the breed presentation program, where you, the audience, can take part in forum style discussions on disciplines you are interested in.

The EQUITANA team is happy to announce that Hawkesbury River Saddlery Company is the presenting partner of the 2012 Way of The Horse Horsemanship Challenge! Hawkesbury River Saddlery Company located at Mount White on the Central Coast of NSW and owned by Heath & Krissy Harris. As a result of 8 years of design & manufacture, Hawkesbury River Saddlery now carries a wide range of Stockmaster Fender Stock, Reiners, Ropers, Barrels Racers, Cutters, Wades (Buckaroos) and trick riding saddles. Hawkesbury River Saddlery Company will be providing to the Champions winning pack an Outlaw Master Stock Saddle valued at $2400. This year's young unstarted horses for TWOTH will be provided by Dry Creek Australian Stock Horse Stud and a specialised nutrition plan has been developed by the Official TWOTH feed supplier Mitavite.
