Expressions of Interest - 2012 Young Rider Trans-Tasman Eventing & Jumping Teams

Eventing

Equestrian Australia has received an invitation from the New Zealand Federation for a team of 4 rider/horse combinations to compete in a Young Rider Trans-Tasman event to be held at in conjunction with the South Island 3DE (Christchurch) 20-22 April. 

The event will be conducted at CCI2* level. Combinations wishing to nominate must be competent at this level. Equestrian Australia will be sending a Chef d’Equipe, a Coach and a Vet to accompany the team for the event. Riders must be between the ages of 16-21 (born between 1996 and 1991) to be eligible for this event.

Jumping

Equestrian Australia has received an invitation from the New Zealand Federation for a team of 4 rider/horse combinations to compete in a Young Rider Trans-Tasman Jumping event to be held at in conjunction with the South Island 3DE (Christchurch) 20-22 April.

The event will be conducted at 1.35-1.45m level, therefore riders must be competent at this level to apply. There will be three separate Trans-Tasman tests held over the three days. Riders must be between the ages of 16-21 (born between 1996 and 1991) to be eligible for this event. Equestrian Australia will be sending a Chef d’Equipe, a Coach and a Vet to accompany the team for this event.

Details

Equestrian Australia would like to invite members to indicate their interest to compete at these self-funded competitions in New Zealand. All interested combinations will need to complete the Expressions of Interest form.

The Show Organising Committee will provide the following: (for the period of 17-22 April)

  • Horse transportation from Christchurch International Airport to the NEC McLean’s Island and return
  • Transportation for riders and team officials from and to Christchurch International airport and during the week.
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Some entertainment
  • Stabling costs and horse feed
  • Entry fees
  • Accommodation for grooms (riders must provide their own grooms)

The riders will be responsible for:

  • Return airfares to New Zealand (horse and rider)
  • Transport to and from airport in AUS (horse and rider)
  • Insurance (The EA National Office can assist with this insurance)
  • FEI passport for the horse

The EA National office will provide administration support and a uniform for the selected riders.
