Delphi, formerly owned by the McVean and Shore Families, finished second in the Encana Cup over the weekend at Spruce Meadows, with new jockey Kamal Bahamdan. A record crowd of 59,765 watched the $100,000 Class, which was won by Lauren Hough (USA) and her nine year old mare Blue Angel. British magazine 'Horse and Hound' has reported that William Funnell's top ride, Kepi d'Elle, has died from colic. Grooms at the Funnells' Dorking (UK) yard found the 13-year-old selle Français stallion in distress at 7am on Thursday (1 September). "It happened so quickly — while the vet was on the phone, he collapsed. By 7.15am he was dead," said stable jockey Daniel Moseley, who shares the ride with William.
