Event Riders Association Meets FEI to Discuss Rules Changes

Representatives from the Event Riders Association met with Giuseppe Della Chiesa, Chair of the FEI Eventing Committee, and Catrin Norinder, FEI Director Eventing & Olympic in London (GBR) on 6 December 2012 to talk through changes to the FEI Eventing Rules that will be implemented from 1 January 2013.... From a strong field of nine candidates, three new committee members have been elected to the Australian Dressage Committee. Mary Seefried, Kerry Mack and Suzanne Cunningham have been elected by the State Dressage Authorities to the ADC for a two year term, from 1/1/13 to 31/12/14. They join Wendy Barker, Caroline Coleby and Elizabeth Owens (Riders Representative) on this skills-based committee.... Showjumper Jessica Tripp to Represent Australia in Mexico

Young showjumper Jessica Tripp will join an elite group of riders when she represents Australia at next year's 12-14 years FEI Children's International Classic in Mexico, reports the North Shore Times. Horse and Hound has reported that organisers of The London International Horse Show, Olympia (17-23 December) have announced that Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro (pictured) are confirmed to compete in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup qualifier, held on the Monday night (17 December). Allegations of animal cruelty and inhumane slaughter at a knackery in Melbourne's western suburbs have sparked outrage, reports www.news.com.au. Animals Australia is complaining about the treatment of horses at Laverton Knackery, saying one animal was dragged by a tractor for 60 metres while still alive....
