Endurance Round Table Debates Proposed Rule Changes

The Endurance Round Table session, which shared the final morning of the FEI Sports Forum with the Eventing Round Table, attracted representatives of National Federations (NFs) and veterinarians for discussion on proposed rule changes that will be presented to the FEI General Assembly 2012 in November. More than 200 guests gathered at ANZ Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park this evening to recognise the sport's highest achievers of the past 12 months. Australia’s overseas eventing riders have had their Olympic Games preparations altered after event organisers of the Badminton Horse Trials in Great Britain were forced to cancel the event due to severe rain and flooding. Although seven of Australia’s Olympic hopefuls were due to compete at Badminton this weekend, Equestrian Australia’s National Performance Director for Eventing Prue Barrett said they have strong back up options available for the riders....

The organisers of the 2012 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials have had to cancel the event due to the heavy rainfall in recent weeks. A statement issued on 30 April, said: "The recent exceptional rainfall has left the ground at Badminton totally waterlogged and partially flooded. "Further rain is due this week leaving no chance of the ground drying out. "Very sadly therefore the 2012 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials has been cancelled."... FEI President, HRH Princess Haya, announced today that the Saudi Equestrian Fund will finance the revitalisation of the FEI Nations Cup™ series. Announcing the agreement at the opening of the FEI Sports Forum in Lausanne (SUI) today, Princess Haya informed delegates that the Saudi Equestrian Fund will provide full financial support for the 2012 series and has also agreed to a five-year title sponsorship commencing in 2013, once the remodelling process has been finalised....
