I always laugh when I hear the term, ‘New kid on the block’, because if the truth be known the ‘kid’ has been around for years, working hard to make things happen and when they start to get the results we all act as though they started riding only a couple of years ago. 51 Year Old Horse Still Going Strong!

We all hope that our horses live long and happy lives, maybe making it into their 30s and beyond, now a senior citizen equine in Essex (UK) is leading the way - having made it to the ripe old age of 51! It appears that the 15hh chestnut gelding called Shayne, who is still very active and loves a gallop, could be the oldest horse in the world. The previous title of oldest living horse in the world was held by a Welsh x Arabian named Badger, who lived in Wales and died at the age of 51 in 2004. ...
