The Riverlands Annual Ladies International Polo Tournament was held from 4 to 7 November and provided plenty of glamour and excitement for riders and spectators alike!

On Sunday 7 November, a well dressed crowd of over 500 people attended the largest International Ladies Polo Tournament in Australia: Lady Luck Ladies International Polo Tournament. All day, spectators were given the opportunity to walk the grounds at their leisure and get up close to the players and horses. The VIP marquees were certainly the place to be not to miss any of the field action. Sponsored by Lady Luck, Angus and Coote, Henleys, Roses Only, The Classic Safari Company, Polo Progression and Trivett women, the event was a fun-filled day of polo, full of prizes and activities, as the world's best female polo players competed for the prestigious trophy.

Sunday's event was preceded by a team introduction VIP dinner in Darling Harbour on Thursday 4 November where guests were entertained by a spectacular display of fireworks welcoming our international guests.

Riverlands Polo Club, in conjunction with the Lady Luck Ladies Polo Tournament, was also proud to support the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation with a raffle being organised to support the cause.

A large, record breaking, turnout for the Lady Luck Ladies International was almost inevitable this year with fifty-seven female players in the draw. The tournament also marked the meeting of top female competitor, Kirsty Sullivan for the Angus and Coote Australian Team, and the world's leading female player, Nina Clarkin.

The tournament started on Thursday with the four international teams playing two matches at Spencer Young's beautiful Yindarra Polo Club in the Richmond Lowlands. Shortly after the second game had finished, the rain arrived and Friday's matches were postponed to Saturday, which saw an uninterrupted schedule.

However, more torrential rain on Saturday evening and overnight sadly resulted in the cancellation of all Sunday polo, other than the international matches. Miraculously, Windsor's number one field, which had been partially under water just twelve hours before, played well for the four teams who competed in glorious sunshine.

Plans are already underway for next year's tournament where sponsors such as Trivett and Riverlands Polo will partner for another edition of sport, ultimate bliss and style.
