Gunnedah Extends Warm Welcome to Visiting Pony Club Competitors

Local Gunnedah Pony Club rider, Jaimie McElroy competing at last year’s State Dressage Championship

Zone 5 Pony Club riders will represent the local area at the Pony Club NSW State Dressage Championships to be held at Gunnedah Showgrounds, Gunnedah from 26-27 April 2014. 

143 competitors and their families will be travelling from all over NSW and QLD to Gunnedah to compete in the two day event.

The Gunnedah Pony Club committee are busy preparing for the event. With Zone 5 Pony Club Chief Instructor Jude Alston hoping to provide visiting riders and their families with “a great weekend of competition and a fun experience over the weekend. We look forward to the event and a warm welcome is assured to all attending.”

Jaimie McElroy from Gunnedah Pony Club will have easy travelling to this year’s championship. The Pony Club NSW State Dressage Championships are held at a different location in NSW each year. Last year Jaimie travelled all the way to Wagga Wagga in the states south for the event, competing very successfully.

In order to prepare for the event, Jaimie along with six other Zone 5 competitors are riding their mounts regularly and practising their relevant Dressage tests.

Gunnedah Show grounds are spacious and provide shelter from the sun and/or inclement weather. Spectators are welcome free of charge to watch the State Dressage Championships.

The Pony Club Association of NSW looks forward to a great weekend of Dressage. Thank you to all of the individuals who make this event possible, including the officials, volunteers, judges, announcers and more.
