Published on Monday, October 22, 2012 in General

Two of Australia’s best known equestrian identities will join forces on 3-4 November to present a unique Herbs for Horses Short Course.

It will be held at David Quick’s Isle of Wight Warmblood Stud near Murchison, Victoria.  David is a prominent stud breeder, competitor and coach in showjumping and dressage.

David will share his practical wisdom and demonstrate how he has utilised pasture herbs on his property to maintain health naturally in his breeding and performance horses for over 30 years. This is a rare opportunity to see the results of David’s highly successful long term program at first hand.

Equine Herbalist, Victoria Ferguson, author of The Practical Horse Herbal  and The Complete Horse Herbal will lecture and demonstrate a number of subjects - Healing Horses with Herbs, the Power of Flower Essences, Natural Preventive Nutrition, Emergency Responses and Using Essential Oils with Horses.

“There is wide interest in the equestrian community in learning how to safely and effectively utilise herbs in their every day management, whether they are elite competitors or pleasure riders,” Victoria says.

The cost of the weekend is $395 incl gst, morning and afternoon teas, and lunch will be enjoyed at the nearby Longleat Winery.

Accommodation is available in Tatura and Shepparton.
