Joann Formosa Inspires School Kids at the Sydney CDI

Throughout the Sydney CDI, a number of school groups attend to be given a glimpse what it takes to be an elite rider. This year, they were also given the chance to meet 2012 Paralympic Gold medallist, Joann Formosa. The queues to meet Joann were understandably long. Both parents, teachers and kids patiently waited to place the Gold Medal around their necks. 

Joann allowed everyone the opportunity to hold the medal and asked them to close their eyes & imagine something they really wanted to achieve. When times get tough, Joann told them they just had to remember what it felt like to hold their dream (and the medal) in their hands & this would encourage them to keep trying.

It was huge success. Joann will be signing autographs again on Friday at 12 noon and on Saturday evening she will also be riding her horse Worldwide PB in a repeat of her Paralympic Gold Medal ride.
