Man Jailed for at Least Six Months Over Deaths of 25 Ponies
Published on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in General
Shane Jason Dean, of Pottsville NSW, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty over the deaths of 25 ponies and has been jailed for at least six months.
He was sentenced in Glen Innes Local Court on Tuesday after admitting in February to 25 acts of aggravated cruelty on an animal.
Police alleged the 25 dead ponies were discovered near Glen Innes in December 2011, after having been transported in a removalist truck that did not have adequate ventilation for transporting animals.
