NCAS Review - have your say and Win

Published on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in General

As part of Equestrian Australia's (EA) review into the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme, (NCAS) members of the equestrian community are being invited to take part in a short survey.

All respondents who successfully complete the survey will go into the draw to win a JVC full HD camcorder (valued at $529) or one of three sets of Eartec two-way headsets (valued at $390 each).

The survey is the first opportunity for members of the equestrian community to contribute to the review and aims to gather feedback from both coaches and riders. The survey is not limited to NCAS accredited coaches with submissions also being sought from non-accredited coaches, coaches with other qualifications, trainees and coach educators. Of equal importance is the opinions of riders and those beginners  looking to learn to ride.

The survey will remain open until 10 March 2014 when the review panel will conduct interviews with a variety of stakeholders (survey respondents can nominate to be a part of the focus groups).

The survey will take between 10-15 minutes to complete and will provide invaluable data for the review.

All information from these surveys is strictly confidential and will be coded for the use of analysis only. No individual or their responses will be identifiable in any publication produced from this data.

About the NCAS review

The NCAS review is being undertaken in partnership with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC). The review will look at all aspects of EA’s NCAS program as well as the coaching landscape of the equine sports industry.

The ASC is involved to provide broad expertise in the coaching field, bring experience and best practice from other sports and to provide an independent voice.

The clear objective is to improve the system so that it provides the best support for anyone coaching and ultimately to ensure that riders receive the highest possible standard of coaching.
