New Club Invites Young Professionals Beyond the Raceday Show

Sydney’s young professionals with a passion for racing are invited to join a new Club offering special access to the backstage of the sport.

The Redoute’s Choice Club launches next month, followed by a series of members-only events to introduce 25-35 year-old professionals to the thoroughbred world beyond the big racedays they already attend.

Supported by founding sponsor Arrowfield Stud and driven by a group of young people working in the breeding, training, media and sales sectors of the industry, the Club is named after champion racehorse and sire Redoute’s Choice.

The Club’s organiser Vicky Leonard explains, “Racing clubs have done a great job of attracting young professionals back to the races to party and punt. Our research shows that many of them are keen to experience more of the sport and the huge industry behind it, but they don’t have the contacts to help them do that.

“That’s where the Redoute’s Choice Club comes in. We can introduce them to the people and the horses that make racing tick, and build their knowledge of everything that goes into putting on the show.

“We’re excited about sharing our passion for the sport with people our age who want to experience more of it, and have fun doing it. We also know that the industry’s future depends on our generation’s desire to move from the sideline into the game itself.”

The Club’s core group of insiders indicates the special access Club members can expect:

Bruce Slade Gai Waterhouse’s Racing Manager.

James Price Bloodstock Consultant with Inglis.

Gus Roland Senior Producer with SKY Racing.

Vicky Leonard Darley Flying Start graduate now working with Arrowfield Stud.

Membership of the Redoute’s Choice Club is free, but numbers will be limited to ensure a high level of individual attention and personal hosting.
