This year’s Pony Club NSW State Showjumping Championship will be held at the beautiful and historic Bathurst Showgrounds from the 6 to the 7 July 2013.

Riders will be travelling from all over the state as well as Queensland and Victoria to compete at the highest level of Pony Club Showjumping.

Strong competition is expected with 170 riders competing across all four age groups for the championship trophy, the champion zone, champion state and the fitness check trophy.

Local host Pony Club Zone 3 have twenty three riders entered in the competition.

According to Bathurst Pony Club, “Zone 3 riders have been preparing in the weeks leading up to State Showjumping by attending a number of local pony club competitions in Blayney, Forbes and Geurie as well as EA events such as the Mid Year SJ Championships at Sydney Jump Club and Gunnedah Show. There have also been a number of clinics run by local instructors to fine tune all aspects of the discipline.”

Entry is free and spectators are most welcome.“Spectators can take the opportunity to relax in the historic grandstands with a real coffee and homemade cake in hand, and choose to view any of the four competition arenas. Keen shoppers can wander through the Equestrian trade stands and the dining room will be open to enjoy a warm soup and a steak sandwich. This is a great opportunity for horse lovers young and old to get their equestrian fix in the centre of Bathurst,” commented Bathurst Pony Club event organisers.

The championship will commence Saturday 6 July from 8:30 am and conclude Sunday afternoon with the mounted presentation ceremony.

The next Pony Club NSW State event is the Pony Club NSW State Mounted Games Championship which is to be held at Holbrook Equestrian Centre from the 14-15th September 2013.

The Pony Club NSW State Showjumping Championships are supported by major sponsor Ranvet, State Championship rug sponsor Flametree Inc, Sport and Recreation a division of Communities NSW, Mitavite official feed partner, as well as other local sponsors.
