Remember your horses in fires, floods & storms!

Published on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in General

During the summer months, depending on where you live in Australia, the weather can dish out extremes that include violent storms, flash flooding and bushfires. Sometimes you can even be subjected to all three in one season!

Natural disasters are becoming more frequent in Australia, and more severe when they happen. Animals often become victims and suffer alongside people when disaster strikes.

For pets, horses and livestock, it's the owner's responsibility to do everything they can to ensure their animals are safe during an emergency. Fortunately, it's not too difficult to include animals in each household's emergency plans.

Be prepared, put your plan in place now!

Information and brochures about protecting pets, horses and livestock from natural disasters is available on the AVA website HERE.
