Showjumpers will be travelling from all over New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland to the Central West town of Condobolin to compete at the Pony Club NSW State Showjumping Championship from the 5 to the 6 July 2014.

Around 170 riders have entered in the competition and will be battling it out for the championship trophy in four separate age groups.

Local host Pony Club Zone 11 have seventeen riders preparing for the event. “Local riders have been preparing for the event by attending showjumping events regularly and will continue to do so up until the event. There was a showjumping school conducted by the Zone with Dave Cameron last weekend and another school with a Level 1 Coach has been organised for the week prior to the event,” mentioned Maree Clark, Zone 11 Pony Club Chief Instructor.

Competitors and their families will start to arrive from Thursday onwards, with most camping at the grounds for the period of the championship. The competition will commence Saturday 5 July from 8:30 am and conclude Sunday afternoon with the mounted presentation ceremony.

Entry is free and spectators are most welcome.“There will be four arenas and many viewing areas for spectators, the local Condobolin Pony Club will be catering over the weekend and bush yarns and unique entertainment will be provided by a local identity on Saturday evening,” said Maree Clark.

“The ground is boarded by the Lachlan River and many large fish have been caught at previous championships so bring your fishing gear,” suggested Maree Clark.

“Riders and spectators can expect warm sunny days and cold nights, the grounds are irrigated and will be prepared by the Lachlan Shire Council who are supporting the event with many hours of in kind assistance. The arena has an all-weather surface that will with stand up to 50mls of rain and still be safe to jump,” said Maree Clark.

Looking forward to a fantastic weekend in the Central West.

The next state event is the State One Day Event Championship to be held at Albury from the 27-28th September 2014. The Pony Club NSW State Showjumping Championships are supported by Sport and Recreation a division of Communities NSW, Global Entries Online, Ranvet, Mitavite official feed partner, as well as other local sponsors.
