Equine Events International and Nicole Magoffin presents the Lientje Schueler Clinic to be held at Jane Bloomfield’s Plumbolah Equestrian Centre, Whittings Rd, Guanaba, Queensland, from Friday 13 April to Sunday 15 April, Lientje Schueler, Steffen Peters’ Assistant Trainer, is returning to Queensland for another three day clinic after her very successful first clinic in February this year.

Joining Steffen Peters barn in 2005, Lientje rose quickly to become Steffen Peters’ Assistant Trainer and rides all his horses when he is away competing and giving clinics.

Lientje also teaches her own students at home, as well as at various clinic locations, trains her own team of horses and competes at a national level.

Riding Chocolatt, Lientje won the 2010, 6 year old futurity at the California Championships and in 2011 rode the 4 year old Regalo to a third place finish in the National Young Horse Championships, with a score of 8.3.

Nicole Magoffin spent 6 months training with Steffen Peters in 2010 and returned to San Diego, California, for another month’s training at the end of 2011.

Nicole says “When trying desperately to find a trainer with methods close to Steffen Peters’ that we could bring to Australia a few times a year, it seemed obvious to approach his Assistant Trainer Lientje Schueler.

Lientje has trained under Steffen Peters for over 5 years and I was particularly drawn to her ability to explain training exercises and methods with such clarity and ease. Lientje has an obvious love for coaching and she really delivers in achieving results and giving 100% effort to every lesson.

The style of coaching is always fair to the horse; no bullying or aggressive training, and having the horses welfare as the main concern. Lientje insists on the true basics of dressage, in particular the self carriage and suppleness of the horse.

Along with Equine Events International I am absolutely delighted to be able to bring Lientje Schueler to Australia for another clinic in April 2012.”

FEI rider, Gary Lung, and his beautiful chestnut gelding, GB Winchester, who was 2nd overall at Dressage With The Stars in 2008 attended the first clinic and had this to say: “Working with Lientje was an eye opener. Her ability to identify instantly what is wrong with you and your horse and, more importantly, give you the tools to fix it was second to none. I loved the gentle, no nonsense approach to her training. She gave me confidence to take Chester to the next level and the difference I’ve felt after the first clinic was incredible. All I could think was “can you imagine how it would feel if we had Lientje here to train with regularly?” I can’t wait until she returns!”

Anita Barton, well known vet and FEI rider, added: “I found Lientje to be very positive and insightful. She very quickly identified areas where horses and riders could improve their way of going, and gave us clear tools on how to address the issues calmly and quietly with no stress to the horse. No horse/rider combination were given the same lesson, she showed great versatility in being able to address individual needs with a variety of training outcomes. At home on my own I have been able to easily incorporate the tools she has given me into my daily training, and my horse has come along in leaps and bounds since.”

Lientje Schueler will be at Plumbolah Equestrian Centre, Whittings Rd, Guanaba, Queensland, from 13 April to 15 April, 2012.

Whilst all places in the April clinic were quickly snapped up by riders from the first clinic, the public is very welcome to come along and watch for a daily fee of $20.
