Sydney Showjumping Club set to finish the year with best ever Championships

The Sydney Showjumping Club will hold the End of Year Championships on 4th and 5th December at their superb Clarendon grounds and are expecting it to be the best yet! 

Spectators are free and welcomed over the weekend of fantastic jumping competition, with the feature event of the show, The Grand Prix, being staged at 1pm on Sunday 5th Dec.

There are over 1600 rounds of competition scheduled over four arenas. Competitors are coming from all over Australia and New Zealand.

The current Australian Showjumping Champion, Jamie Kermond and fiancé Jamie Winning from Wilberforce, will be attending with a large team of horses.

The SSJC was this year named “Club of the Year” by Equestrian Australia and Chairman Judy Fasher said, “I believe the Sydney Showjumping Club to be probably the most successful and progressive jumping club in the Southern Hemisphere!”

Club President David Lawrence said “The grounds are in superb condition and we have four excellent course designers coming.  Mark Atkins from Maraylya will be chief CD, Grahame Watts from Queensland, Sue Bettington from Hunter Valley and Aaron Gaffouri  from Sydney.”

There will be trade stands and food stalls to offer a selection of shopping options for visitors.

The equipment has been refurbished will make a marvellous visual spectacle.

Well known announcer Tim Dreverman from the southern highlands will be the commentator for the weekend to ensure that that spectators are kept well informed.

Horse enthusiasts are encouraged to come and enjoy some really world class competition.
