The inaugural QSEC Horse Home Show is being held on Saturday 8 February and all is looking set for a super event! The program is finalised, the showbags are stuffed and everything is on track for an amazing day of equestrian fun and education. And shopping. We can't forget the shopping.

The Horsezone team will be at the Horse Home Show and we are running competitions with great Horsezone and Rider's Diary prizes to be won!

The Horsezone team has 50 Rider's Diaries to give away! To win one, come along and see us at site #39 and be one of the first 50 people to tell us the correct answers to the following questions:
  1. On the Horsezone website, how many disciplines are displayed on the Home page? Name 2 of these disciplines?
  2. Go to the Riders Diary website so you can tell us how many pages are included in the Standard Binder?

But wait there's more! We are also giving you another chance to WIN...

To be eligible to win one of three 'I LOVE HORSEZONE' packs, which will include a Horsezone jacket, two caps, a comb, a pen, a $60 Horsezone advertising voucher and an A5 Rider's Diary, fill out an entry form at our stand, place it in the entry box and go into the draw. The competition will be drawn on Monday 10 February at 2:00pm and winners will be notified by phone and announced in the Horsezone newsletter of 13 February.

We look forward to catching up with you at the QSEC Horse Home Show!

World-Class Presenters

There is so much talent on offer at QSEC's Horse Home Show. From demonstrations by equestrian athletes representing a range of different disciplines to equestrian professionals in a wide range of topics. Read on for just some of the highlights.

Rebel Morrow

It was the Athens Olympics that propelled Rebel Morrow onto the international stage. Together with her mount Oakley Groover, she finished 11th and was the highest placed Australian in Eventing. Eight years later, and Rebel is on the comeback trail, this time riding Hillgrove Enviable (or Enny for short).

Enny and Rebel have qualified for the World Equestrian Games (WEG) after completing the 4* class at the Australian International in Adelaide. They now have their sights firmly set on selection for WEG in 2014, and then the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.

Rebel will be presenting in the Main Demonstration Arena at 2:40PM with 'Grid Work for Eventing'.

Warren Backhouse

Warren has been riding and competing on reining horses for just over a decade now and has competed nationally and internationally in this short period. He has covered thousands of miles, travelling throughout Australia, taking with him his truck load of these fine athletes. He also travels all over Australia sharing his wealth of knowledge, giving clinics and lessons to reining enthusiasts and people wanting to better their riding and understanding of the horse and its mechanics. His Five Star Reining Clinics have become very popular around Australia.

He represented Australia in the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games, held in Kentucky USA, and had the great honour to end up 13th in the World.

Warren will be joined by reining superstar, Shaun Saunders, as they present a session on 'Introduction to Reining' in the Main Demonstration Arena at 10:50AM.

Linda Schmerglatt

Linda Schmerglatt has been riding and training horses since she was 13 years old. She has trained multiple horses to Grand Prix level, including Fenton. Linda and her horse Fenton were the first Queensland combination to achieve over 60% in Grand Prix. They were awarded over 70% by Jan Peters (who was President of the Olympic Judges Committee) for their Freestyle performance at the Brisbane CDI in 1999. Linda and Fenton were selected for the Shadow Team for the Sydney Olympics.

Linda travels extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand, giving lessons and clinics. Her reputation as a "correct seat" specialist follows her worldwide. Riders come from as far away as Germany, Japan, America and New Zealand to stay and further their riding abilities.

Linda will be presenting at 9:30AM in the Main Demonstration Arena, joined by Lea Bierman, with a session on 'Dressage in Harmony'.

Lea Bierman

Lea Bierman has been riding, judging and training dressage for over 40 years and was a founding member of North Coast Active Riders Group. She has trained around 20 horses from breaking in to various dressage levels including Grand Prix and has been a member of numerous State and National Dressage Squads. Her current horse, Jaydee Pardon, is competing at Intermediate 1 level.

For 14 years Lea lectured at the University of Queensland Gatton Campus and was responsible for developing the equestrian and coaching components of the Equine Studies programme. Lea is sponsored by Pryde's EasiFeed.

Lea will be presenting a session on 'Dressage in Harmony' in the Main Demonstration Arena at 9:30AM, along with Linda Schmerglatt
