Endurance combination Ben Hudson and Oso Edith withdraws from WEG
By: Michelle Cook/EA
Disappointing news for endurance rider Ben Hudson and the owners of Oso Edith after it was announced the combination would be withdrawing from the Australian Endurance team for the FEI World Equestrian Games 2014.
Ben and the owners of Oso Edith made the decision to withdraw the eight year old mare following discussions with the team vet.
Trainer Amanda Kettlewell said it was a difficult time but the horse’s welfare remained the team’s priority.
“Right from the start of this amazing journey eight months ago I have always said that if our horse is not 110% to go overseas and represent Australia she would not get on the plane.
“Sadly this has been the case but the welfare of our horse is paramount along with the success of the Australian team,” said Kettlewell.
The reserve combination of Sarah McLaughlin and “Tonki Dee Boo Shania” will now be the substitution and travel with the other Australian based horses on the 13th August.
