BIGGEST PROGRAM YET FOR NSW DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The NSW Dressage Championships has added a CDI-W to its 2016 program in what is set to be the biggest and most inclusive state championships ever. 

More than 275 horses guided by 215 riders have entered for the championships, which take place from September 8 to 11 at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) at Horsley Park.

The championships will include four days of competition from preliminary to Grand Prix, pony and Para-Equestrian events.

Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle riders will be able to gain World Cup qualification at this year's event with the addition of the CDI-W program, and the introduction of the Equestrian NSW Ameteur Owner/Rider Championships means the 2016 event caters for all levels of riders.

“We are very pleased with the entries and the standard of horses,” said NSW Dressage president Helen Lawson.

“If the performance ranking coming into the championships is an indication, competition will be fierce.”

The highest number of entries has been received for the Open Medium championship, with the maximum field of 35 horses set to compete.

Spectators are welcome to attend the event, cost is free.
