Dion is a lovely, sensible, chunky horse and has by far one of the best thoroughbred trots I have ridden. He finished racing in August 2022 and was allowed a long let down period (9-10 months) before commencing work again. He has a BEAUTIFUL natural contact and frame - is truly quite a simple ride on the flat for a confident rider. I think he would suit a Intermediate to experienced rider to further his education as he is still green, however, because he is so quiet, he would very easily be a great pony club, adult riding club horse with potential to really excel in the dressage or show ring. He has done lots of raised walking poles, trot poles which he absolutely loves and has popped over cross rails and showing potential in this field too.

He is respectful on the ground however still needs a confident handler. He responds to aids but is definitely more on the lazy side, although that makes for an incredibly safe feeling when riding him. I have even put my sister on him who is quite nervous and he was just a saint. Dion has been on trails and only ever looks, no spook - walk, trot, canter and isn’t strong at all. He was walking on the buckle the whole time. He is proving to be very trainable.

Very easy to wash, catch, farrier, etc.

He has some very manageable quirks, happy to discuss these with serious buyers. Eligible for OTTB classes.
