Tropical Thunder (Jofu)
Genuinely kind and easy going little OTT horse standing at 15.1/2hh, just turned 8. Raced lightly, retired sound, played polo (didn't love it, whilst not horse shy, wasn't assertive enough to be a star), sat in the paddock for a few years before 12 months of consistent and correct education and exposure with a competent teen as her gap year project.
Whilst he's not the prettiest guy you'll meet, he has 3 good paces, a kind eye and no conformation faults.....and if like us, you prescribe to the Forrest Gump principle that cute is as cute does, then he's darn adorable.
Jofu (it's worth meeting him just to hear the story) has been out and about, attending PC rallies, lessons (indoors and out, alone and in groups- with some top coaches both dressage and jumping), trail riding including adventures to a few the local big venues (the ones which usually freak the OTTs out, Elcho and Werribee) as well as his first foray competing (Grade 3 dressage where he did not disgrace himself and was settled and as rideable as he is at home in the middle of the crazy warmup and open space alike).
He has no quirks, no rear, buck or bolt and can be left for periods between rides and outings with no issues. Has no separation anxiety and can go out with others or alone. He is showing good form over a fence and happily pops over ditches, brushes and through water (the evil 3 for an event rider). Recently started showjumping and is happy to pop round 70/80 cm with no issues with fill etc
Suited to a young confident teen (you need to bring something to the table too or it's not really fair on him) or an adult who wants a straightforward genuine horse who whilst quiet doesn't have one hoof in the grave (or any soundness concerns).
We are negotiable on price, given the current market. 12 months of exposure and education should be valued however. We know this horse, are often called too honest when selling so have nothing to hide and will share our 12 months of knowledge of him, and we have invested in him and want to see him succeed with his new rider!
