I’m making the heart-breaking decision to find Dato a new forever home.

Dato is currently competing successfully at 80. He’s ready to move up to 95, and we’ve entered Albury HT in the 95.

He’s very slow, resulting in him never having been raced, however still qualifies for all the OTT classes.

He has a lovely frame and works well on the flat. He’s very reliable in dressage and will usually score 70% or higher. He is more woah then go, but once he’s going produces lovely movement and has a really good frame.

SJ wise, he’s successfully going around 95cm rounds and training at 1.05cm. He’s quick on his feet and will generally jump anything in the showjumping.

He’s learnt all about XC and now loves it. He doesn’t have any nastiness to him when he’s excited so super easy to manage on course and in the warm up.

He’d be perfect for a teenager looking for their first “big” horse as he’s super safe, easy to do everything with and will be able to work up the grades with them.
Would also suit an adult rider wanting an easy horse to take out and have a bit of fun with. He doesn’t need a lot of work, and you can pull him out of the paddock after a week or two off and he won’t put a foot wrong.

Good to shoe, clip & float. He’s good on the ground, however, does have a bit of sass to him. Excellent to take out, happy to stay in a stall all weekend or tie up to the float. He eats and drinks (a lot) when he’s out as well.

He is a mild windsucker, but can be controlled with a collar. We don’t find that this affects him in any way.

Selling due no fault of his own, I’m looking to move over seas for a few years and he’s too good to sit in a paddock.

5* home is a must as this is an extremely hard decision and he deserves the best.
