Elusive shine aka Lu

Lu is an honest, sweet and trustworthy gelding with a heart of gold. He is the one true gentleman who is as gentle as a horse can be. Although he is a safe horse, he does have a few quirks, such as pig-rooting when excited, a mouth of steel, and the tendency to bolt when nervous or excited which is why he will not be sold to a beginner or novice rider. He is for confident, strong intermediate to advanced riders as he can be testy with the pig-roots. He has never bucked or reared with me. He is a very smart and capable horse who would excel in low level jumping with a keen, confident teen, he unfortunately does have uncomfortable gaits but he is indeed gorgeous and the movement looks nice. Also has the potential to make a great enduro horse as he is a very quick walker and forward and has a lot of stamina.

With me he’s attended pony-club (which he was nervy about but calmed down nicely after a little bit), jumping lessons and has done extensive trail riding with his past owners and extensive hack outs with me. He is a very bold and brave horse, cars and motor bikes don’t bother him, he doesn’t bat an eye at snarling dogs snapping at his legs, but he can be nervy about cyclist coming up behind him and cattle trucks. He can also be ridden bareback and in a halter (or you can sit on him tackless) and knows all leg cues and lunging cues.

He does wind suck but easily controlled with a collar, which I will provide if needed, or electric fences

He’s easy to catch (he catches you!), float, shoe, trim all that jazz.

This is a painfully hard sale so he will only go to the best of homes, no doggers. Must be able to provide references and I have the right to say no if I don’t think it’s a fit
