This is an absolutely heartbreaking sale of a best friend. Leroy was started well in a professional stable and I bought him as my next competition horse after my old horse retired. Right from the start he has had the coolest attitude and confidence and I know he has buckets full of potential. However due to being pregnant I feel my riding days have to be put on hold as I also have a full time job and currently live in town so he has to be on agistment.
Since owning him I have taken him to clinics, show jump and dressage comps and he takes it all in his stride behaving just like he does at home when he’s away. Last year we finished up the season at the National Thoroughbred Titles at Stonewall and he behaved like he goes there every week! He has travelled back and forth between my parents’ property and his agistment in Dubbo and settles well in either environment. He is used to dogs, cattle, sheep, ducks and all aspects of farm life. He is good to travel, shoe, clip, etc and is the biggest snack monster!
Leroy has three great paces with a beautiful rhythmic trot that is more like a warmblood than a thoroughbred. In fact he is often mistaken for a warmblood with his eyecatching looks. He consistently scores over 70% in his dressage tests and is schooling 90+ cm, but is capable of so much more. He is nice enough to be a straight dressage prospect but I am also sad we didnt have more eventing starts.
He was Preliminary Champion at the NSW Rising Star Titles at Gunnedah and was a regular at Dubbo Jump and Dressage Clubs.
Due to organizing a wedding last year and working full time we really didn’t get to as many events as we would have liked. He has the best feet I have ever seen in a thoroughbred and vet checks are welcome. He is presently in training with Tara Sheridan at Views Equestrian and can be viewed there (nr Maitland).
